THE SCHOLARS
Events
We make a commitment to expose our youth to events, that will enhance, enlighten, and empower them.
Meet The Scholars
“Meet The Scholars” is a elegant induction ceremony of new members and to introduce the Scholars to the Texarkana Community. The ceremony honors all The Scholars and give our city officials, community leaders, business leaders, family, and friends an opportunity to recognize the special skills of our rising and upcoming entrepreneurs.
Keeping History Alive
Keeping History Alive is The Scholars main fundraiser for the year. This event will help fund our curriculum budget, community activities, Texarkana College (Kid’s College tuition fee), and a chance to expose our youth to places and events they would not normally experience. Keeping History Alive is a celebration to educate the community on African American and Hispanic History and culture. This event is not only a cultural event, it also gives The Scholars an opportunity to showcase their entrepreneurial skills. Each participant research and create a product and learn how to budget, market, and sell their product. They share a booth and display their products for sale. This is a great opportunity and learning experience for our youth.
